Apologies for the inactivity ;)

Ello All... Yeah, not much happening on this blog... for a number of reasons... 1. I didnt really feel that it was appropriate to blog here unless I had a post about a game... (and there are only so many crappy games out there to blog... and so little time :P 2. I've focused alot more on my Game Development projects, and as such, I have created a blog for that :) http://tastygraph.wordpress.com/ Feel free to pop by and drop a comment if you're curious about my game design/coding/adventure... :) One day you might see a game of mine for sale on the Application Store for iPhone for $0.99 ... whooooah! What an impressive goal :P Okay, kidding aside... What are you waiting for? go to http://tastygraph.wordpress.com/ and check out the blog! I promise, I'm updating that one... really, I am ;)

Aion - Happy Times! not...

In these modern times, you can be entertained everywhere, and anytime... So what makes a seemingly normal person decide to spend hours and hours waiting for Aion to finish its Queue so that they are able to actually LOG INTO the fucking game to play and level up their characters? Is it because the game has beautifully designed 3d models with lush and colourful textures, tons and tons of quests (some of them even require you to arrive at a specific moment in time in order to finish the quest... Oh the joy of having to wait for nightfall!) or is it perhaps because this game allows you to relive the wonderful moments you had spent in Lineage2 fighting off the hordes and hordes of strangely named BOTS that roam the land and kill anything that moves and breathes? (including the 10th and last quest mob that you have been searching for, for hours, to complete the quest that required you to show up at precisely 19:01, gametime...) What is it with Aion that makes us willing to endure a world wh

Saturday marked the day of a new era for Aion... The developers in their infinite wisdom decided to add 1 new server and increase the capacity of their existing servers. The result was the following for me: As you can see, the addition of 1 new server did very little for me, and the thousands of other players that prefer playing online games when it suits themselves, rather than when it is primetime, or when the Queue is lowest.. would probably agree with me ;) I'll keep you updated on this game, but you should probably expect a very biased blog-post once I finally get into the game, and manage to make myself play it for more than 30 consecutive minutes without feeling like throwing up in my mouth or going on a murderspree to burninate every bloody infantile player I come across in that game :P

I'll refrain from writing anything about this game at the present... I did play it in beta... But I have yet to properly play it in the release version to be able to give you a really filling blogpost... Instead I will leave you with a picture from my experience of the game.

City of Heroes/Villains - Even heroes need a little grinding!

I'm a huge fan of comic books... Ever since I was little I've been fascinated with super heroes and super villains... I think for me it was Superman that started it all, but the last 20 years or so I have been far more interested in the Marvel universe (Superman is DC Comics), and I think its due to the multitude of heroes and villains that exist in the Marvel world... So Originally when I heard they were making City of Heroes, I was so excited (mind you, this was in 2004 or maybe even earlier than that, I honestly dont remember) For those of you who have been living under a rock for the past 5 years, or accidentally stumbled upon my blog because you thought it was something entirely different... I Can tell you that CoH/CoX is an mmorpg based on heroes. You create your avatar by using many many many different costume/outfit options, and you can make your avatar look like almost anything you could imagine. This is actually my favorite feature of this game. In fact, if they had a

Its not WoW yet... But WAR is WORSE!

Most of my friends already know about my love and affection for the game that is... WAR... Warhammer Online. I originally started playing this game in the early early phases of the beta tests, most likely because I had 2 active Dark Age of Camelot (DAOC) accounts at the time and had signed up with those two... DAOC was an mmorpg that Mythic had created before they got their filthy hands on the Warhammer project. ... I said WAS because they murdered their own game when they tried to convince DAOC players that WAR was going to be the new DAOC... obviously it wasnt, since alot of the DAOC players went right back to DAOC after trying out WAR :P Some of the DAOC players just lost faith in Mythic completely and never went back to DAOC, causing both WAR and DAOC to feel empty and very much devoid of the action you're normally used to on an mmorpg. Anyways... I was looking forward to WAR and thrilled that one of my favorite mmorpg developers were making a new game... but little did I know

Godswar Online - Play it while NOT playing it.

I came across this sorry excuse of an mmo whilst browsing http://www.mmorpg.com , a site that I frequently look at, in my search for new and interesting (albeit mostly crappy) online games. My attention was caught by a banner that read something to the extent of: Download it in 5 minutes! Level up in 60 seconds! And they were right!!! Finally a banner add for a crappy mmorpg that actually keeps its promise! The full game file was around 150mb to download, so quick and easy to get that one, compared to the usual 1 to 3 gb files we see in most of the newer trials and full games. But there is a very good reason for the small file size... The game looks like it belongs somewhere in the back of my closet next to some random Playstation 1 game :/ In short, its a semi-topdown/isometric , 2.5D game with graphics that look like a horrible mix of some epic fail anime and UFO X-Com Enemy Unknown from 1990 something :P As a player you start in either Sparta or Athens, both are regions where npcs
